Holidays

Even though I know that it is kind of early to plan for my holidays in the December, I went ahead and block off serveral days in the organiser. Of course , not before I kept reminding myself that exams are lingering in the corner and getting ready to pounce on me in November. I am going away for Christmas! Nothing fancy though, just a simple and sweet getaway to KL with my family (including a uncle, his friend, my aunt, my mum, 2 sisters and perhaps a cousin). While I was planning this, I was not sure if they could make it but anyway I went ahead. Well, Christmas isn't about Christmas Day, it is about Christmas Eve. Think of the parties that you will be attending, the dancing , to appear in a really hip club with beautiful people around you! Well, I have not done all of the above. Somehow Christmas eve was always a really wholesome and slow get-together for me. My sister thinks that the way I celebrate mine is almost too painful. Ha.

Christmas 2004
Had the first in house turkey meal that made me think that perhaps eating catered christmas eve meal at home is a bad idea. It was just me, mum and Sister 3. We were really excited that we were be catering the meal so we sourced the places that did all the takeaways. But it was not until 2 days before the dinner that I placed an order. I can't remember what I got for Christmas though, must be 10000 of those things that you will have absolutely no use for. That's what Christmas is about isn't it?

Christmas 2003
The thing about a family with a grown up daughter and 2 still growing daughters is that you never really get to celebrate Christmas together because that kind of celebration is wholly friends only. I understand that. I had been growing up you know. So what really happened that year was that it was the first time that I brought my mum and dad out to turkey meal at a restaurant. Never did it came across my mind that it was going to be my last.

Christmas 2002
Strangely, I had no recollection of what I did. Well, that means taht I might have done absolutely nothing. Unbelievable.

Christmas 2001
Ha, I remembered this! My first ever romantic Christmas. A guy out of no where was wooing me. So we went to Sentosa on Christmas eve for a pinic. Pinic my head, lah. I remembered that there were nothing to eat but bread! WHat the..... I could remember exactly what I wore that day but have no recollection about what he wore or brought. Well, you know, the relationship is centred around me, well at least initally.

Christmas 2000
I was in 2nd year of university. I was almost sure that I spent mine with friends (yes, i was at a growing up stage, god's sake, I was still bloody young at 20.) Y3 and YSL. Hey, this is a classic one. We went to Y3 place and bought some takeaway such as sushi, log cakes, pasta and perhaps ice-cream. The highlight was that I brought Sister2 along because I was just being nice and thought that she might be bored at home. So we had a slow night eating and laughing. We thought that it was absolutely cool and we were so matured and grown up like fine ladies. Fun right? NO. That wasn't what Sister 2 thought. Back home, she told me the get together was boring as hell and she would ever join us again, not even if we pay her to. Kids.
